On December 8, 2025, at the parliament building, the King Prajadhipok’s Institute, in collaboration with the International Studies Centre (ISC) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Assembly of Thailand, hosted a ceremony for the handover of the “Regulations Concerning the Parliamentary Advisory Committee on Thailand’s Accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) B.E. 2568” to the OECD, followed by a special lecture entitled “Legal Reform and Improvement Toward OECD Membership”.
The ceremony was held to demonstrate the political commitment of the Thai parliament to actively support Thailand’s accession process to the OECD. The event was attended by Mr. Mongkol Surasajja, President of the Senate; General Kriangkrai Srirak, First Vice President of the Senate; Mr. Boonsong Noysophon, Second Vice President of the Senate; and Associate Professor Dr. Issara Sereewatthanawut, Secretary-General of the King Prajadhipok’s Institute, who welcomed Mr. František Ružička, Deputy Secretary-General of the OECD.
Secretary-General Dr. Issara Sereewatthanawut, stated that Thailand’s accession to the OECD represents a significant opportunity to enhance the quality of life of Thai people through transparent governance, a reliable legal system, and public policies that strengthen national competitiveness. He emphasized that King Prajadhipok’s Institute will serve as a key mechanism in supporting the legislative branch throughout the accession process.
